So proud to have been apart of this special @blackwomenrisinguk project as a feature writer as well as giving holistic tips. I just know it will touch so many who go through cancer or know people who are going through it. Great for support and tips in all areas as well as case studies from a range of ladies.
THE UNTOLD CANCER STORIES PODCAST
With covid-19 there has been an influx of amazing informative podcasts and I am proud to say I have the opportunity on sitting in on the BWR weekly podcast, after I was interviewed on episode 1. This podcast mainly focuses on the untold cancer stories of women who have gone through or who are going through cancer and the many subjects we don't often see get spoke about.
LEANNE PERO FOUNDATION
You see me in this t-shirt and hoodie quite a bit as I have been involved in many of the amazing events, exhibitions, support groups and press opportunities . The charity is all about health and wellbeing and has a particular focus on black women going through cancer or that have been through cancer. It is doing amazing work at raising awareness and I am overjoyed to have seen it flourish right from the start.
COUNSCIOUSLY CONETTED
This is a 2 for 1 post for both events and media. My former co-host has a podcast on podbean and it was with great pleasure to be her first interview. We delved into mental health from a spiritual, emotional and physical perspective.
Also earlier this year as you can see in the picture we had a stall at a BPG event where Shackeema was provided spiritual readings and I was doing overall health and lifestyle readings it was a great combination.

My first interview was for the “Wellness Wednesday” show where I spoke with the lovely Denise Isis Miller about my cancer journey and all things health and lifestyle.
My second interview was for a show called “Extraordinarily Talents”. I’m always talking about my cancer journey but this time the focus was on my mindset when dealing with paralysis, how I felt, how I was treated and living with a unique ability( I refuse to call it a disability because I am capable but just in a different way from “the norm”). It was a real eye-opener and I definitely want to start talking about it more.

“This for me is the true definition of #BeastModeOn. I met this young lady Charlotte Crowl who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 17 on top of that when she started getting treatment she had an extremely rare side affect. One of the drugs paralysed her & she had to learn to talk and walk again. The Doctors didn’t know if it was possible but with positivity and a strong mindset she did it. Her walking & talking is not 100% yet. The book: Cancer The Hidden Truth | The Stuff No One Tells You.
It is a true account of everything She went through on her journey it shows even though She went through it She came out standing. It has sad, funny and happy parts, I would say it’s a real eye opener. You only hear about people dying and surviving but you never hear about the mental and physical struggle, which is what she had tried to convey in the book.
It details her journey from diagnosis through to recovery and beyond. It covers her physical and emotional experiences, which have never before been shared. Its a book to learn and be motivated.
